Sneak Preview: Grill It!
One of the benefits of writing here at Get Your Grill On is that occasionally we get a product, a book, or a food item to review. Usually these items are pretty good, sometimes great and rarely just plain awful. Most however are just pedestrian but we just received a new book in the mail […]
Grilled Pizza: The Holy Grail?
I am obsessed with pizza — making it, eating it, blotting the grease off the top, figuring out which places use real and not canned mushrooms — but most importantly, finding a good place for take-out. You see, ever since I left the New York-New Jersey metro area and moved to Pennsylvania, finding a good […]

A Contest: “He Said Beer, She Said Wine”
I’ve just come across a great book on wine and beer called “He Said Beer, She Said Wine” by Dogfish Head brewery founder Sam Calagione and renowned sommelier Marnie Old and published by DK Publishing just this month.
I loved this book. Finally a book about wine and beer for the rest of us.
Beer is traditionally […]

Over this past summer my daughter was in the hospital for nearly a month. Needless to say, my wife and I spent […]

Better Homes & Gardens Barbecue Book - Neat Discoveries
If you’re any kind of outdoor cooking enthusiast, you’ve got this book. If not, you’ve got one or five just like it. The drawings, photographs & recipes are fun to pour through. Meathead gifted me this one a few weeks ago. While flipping through I found two reasons that made it a tad more interesting. […]
Turkey - Smoked or Oven Roasted? It’s Your Choice.
This recipe is adapted from The El Paso Chile Company’s Texas Border Cookbook by W. Park Kerr and Norma Kerr. This recipe works equally as well in the smoker or in the oven. If you do smoke your bird, be sure to use a light wood such as apple in the fire. If you’re not […]
BBQ Recipes: Big Bob Gibson’s White Barbecue Sauce
Here it is, Big Bob Gibson’s recipe for his infamous White Barbeque Sauce.
This recipe has been published for years on the internet, but I trust that this one is the real thing. This is the version as published by Mike Mills in the fantastic book, Peace, Love and Barbeque. Enjoy.
