Alternative Valentine’s Day Gifts for Your Guy
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and thoughts of red roses and chocolates fill the air, along with the cha-ching of the retailers’ registers. But hey, it isn’t all about the girlie stuff - guys need gifts too, right? That must have been exactly what the folks at Every Day with Rachael Ray were thinking of when they put together their little list of unique presents you can get your someone special this holiday:
It sounds kinky, but Rub with Love Cocoa Nib Barbecue Sauce ($6 for 16 ounces, tomdouglas.com) is indeed meant for cooking, and it’s as tasty as Mexican mole.
Skip the standard breakfast in bed and serve him Vosges Haut Chocolat Mo’s Bacon Bar ($7, vosgeschocolate.com). Be warned: The odd combo of bacon, chocolate and smoked salt is meant for serious pork fans.
Pick up a pack of Diva Chocolates Mocha Java Beef Jerky ($6 for 2 ounces, diva-chocolates.com) to show him why cocoa powder and beef were meant to be together - just like you two.
Tabasco Spicy Chocolate’s fire-red tins ($13 for 3, countrystore.tabasco.com) are the first clue that this isn’t a mellow box of sweets. The chocolate inside - made with hot pepper sauce - will set his heart racing.
