Not so Rub of the Week

OK, so you have seen the best rubs I have in the arsenal – so I figured it’s time to take it to the next level. The next level of flavor that is. Mops. I don’t have nearly as many mop variations as I did rubs - But, the ones I do have, allow you to baste on the flavor and hopefully take your food to the next level.

Rather than use a “mop” or cloth to baste my meat, I like to baste my meat from a spray bottle. Usually on an hourly basis.

Here is a flavorful mixture that will work wonders on your Que!!

CIDER SQUIRT

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Cups Apple Cider
  • ¾ Cup Cider Vinegar
  • ½ Cup Crown Royal
  • ½ Cup Water
  • ¼ Cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ Cup Lemon Juice – freshly squeezed
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp paprika – finely ground

Instructions:

  • Combine ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • Simmer mixture for 5 min, then let cool
  • Refrigerate or use immediately

Use: Baste meat liberally every 30-60 minutes.
