A note from the editor.
Welcome to Get Your Grill On - the part of the Well Fed Network dedicated to the art of live fire cooking. I’m really excited to have this opportunity to bring this to you. I want to thank Cate O’Malley and Faith Kramer for inviting me to participate. You can find out a bit about me by checking out the bios page.
Get Your Grill On will focus primarily on live fire cooking from the backyard to the competition to the campfire to the barbeque to the gas grill, we’ll cover it all. We’ll talk about equipment, recipes, methods, terminology and techniques. We’ll visit all sorts of cooking contests, often reporting from inside both the judges and cook’s tents. We’ll cover the amateur and the professional cook. We may even sneak in some Chili cook-offs when no one’s looking.
Our writers are a diverse lot. We’ve got backyard chefs, restaurant chefs, caterers, award winning barbecue cooks, certified food judges, food writers and photographers and maybe a food critic or two. And they’re from all over the world; there’s no off season here. Your grill will never go cold. Over the next month or so you’ll meet them all.
Unlike most food blogs out there, you’ll find that when it comes to grilling, barbecuing and live fire cooking, it’s a field primarily ruled by men so most of our writers naturally are men. Please forgive us if we get a little crude at times. You know how men can be.
But there are a few great and strong women in our stable of writers and they’ll have their say and perspective as well. There’s no discrimination here.
We’re looking for new writers all the time. If you’re interested in writing for Get Your Grill On, drop me an e-mail and we’ll talk. No big whoop.
So grab a beer, pull up a chair and sit awhile by the fire. We’re in for a great time.

Is Sal (http://thespiritworld.net/bios/) going to cross-post at Get Your Grill On? A great resource for BBQ’d cabrito amd haggis is within your reach.
